International Privacy Notice

This notice applies to individuals who have been contacted by Alii Technology Group as part of our business outreach activity. It covers our obligations under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) / California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

Respecting your right to privacy is of utmost important to us. We understand that outreach emails can sometimes feel invasive which is why we've put together this notice to ensure transparency with how we obtained your information and how you can exercise your rights.

Who we are

Why have you received an email from us?

We contact finance professionals and business leaders to make them aware of our accounts payable and automation software. If you have received an email from us, it is because we believe our solutions may be relevant to your professional role.

We are committed to handling your data transparently and in accordance with applicable privacy law. This notice explains what data we hold, where we got it, why we use it, and what your rights are.

Where did we get your data?

We obtained your professional contact details from a combination of the following sources:

  • Professional networking platforms (such as LinkedIn) where your professional profile is publicly available
  • Publicly accessible business directories and company websites
  • Specialist third-party B2B data providers who compile and supply business contact information

In all cases, the data we hold relates to your professional role only. We do not obtain or use personal data from personal or consumer sources.

What data do we hold about you?

We hold the following categories of professional personal data:

  • Full name
  • Job title / role
  • Business email address
  • Business telephone number (if provided)
  • Employer / organisation name
  • Business sector or industry

We do not hold special category data, financial data, or any information relating to you in a personal (non-business) capacity.

Why are we processing your data?

UK GDPR — Legitimate Interests: We have conducted a Legitimate Interests Assessment (LIA) and are satisfied that our processing is necessary and proportionate. As a provider of accounts payable and automation software, we have a legitimate commercial interest in making finance professionals and business managers aware of solutions that are directly relevant to their roles. We balance this against your rights by: using professional data only; providing an easy opt-out in every communication; and limiting retention to 24 months for non-engaging contacts.

PECR (UK email recipients): Our email outreach to UK corporate email addresses is conducted in compliance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR). Where recipients are sole traders or partnerships, we only contact them where a relevant lawful basis under PECR applies.

CCPA / CPRA (California residents): We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioural advertising purposes. Your data is used solely for the business purposes described above.

How long do we keep your data?

  • If you do not engage: We retain your data for a maximum of 24 months from the date of first contact, after which it is securely deleted.
  • If you engage with us: Retention is governed by our standard client and prospect data retention policy.
  • If you opt out: We act promptly on your request and retain only a suppression record (your email address and opt-out date) to ensure we do not contact you again.

Who do we share your data with?

We share your data only with service providers acting as data processors on our behalf, under contractual data processing agreements:

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it for advertising purposes.

International data transfers (UK recipients)

Alii Technology Group is headquartered in Australia. Your data may be processed in Australia via our HubSpot CRM and Microsoft 365 platforms.

Transfers of personal data to Australia are made subject to appropriate safeguards under UK GDPR Article 46, specifically the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, which we have in place with our data processors.

Where we engage any additional processors based in countries without UK adequacy status, we will similarly ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place prior to any transfer.
